Prattville Dragoons SCV Camp 1524 Chaplain's Column for March 2022 - A World at War

 Luke 21:10

"Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom."

Psalm 47:8

"God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne."

It seems like every week we have a new terror/ distraction in the world. We go from a "pandemic" to a potential "WW3 scenario" within a few days.

Biblically, the scenario playing out in Ukraine has brought many people to question if this is the end times.?

Jesus tells us in Matthew 24:6 that we will "hear of wars and rumors of wars." But he also warned that the Son of God and Man would not yet return. He further added that even he did not know the day or the hour from His heavenly father.

Last evening I walked in to go to bed and Jen had begun reading Revelation. I advised her that it was not a good idea to read Revelation before trying to sleep. It can keep you up at night. As Mark Twain said, "it's not the parts of the bible that I don't understand that concern me, but the parts that I do."

What if it is the end times? Let us also remember that after the end of time and tribulation that God will have created a "new Jerusalem." He will "wipe every tear from every eye." We will be reunited with loved ones and receive our heavenly bodies. No more pain and sorrow.

How can you take part in this joyous occasion? Take this opportunity before it is too late and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Ask him to absolve you of your sins. Receive the sacrament of baptism and find a local church to attend. Find a small group or class so that you may have others to talk to. "Iron sharpens iron!" Do it today!

Getting back to the end of days. Yes, there will be dark times before Jesus comes again. But we have that assurance in Christ that death has been defeated and so has our enemy, satan. We win!

Rejoice!

Remember those on our prayer list.
