Tallassee Battles for the Armory Reenactment this Weekend

Battles for the Armory 2012

3 Day Event - November 9th, 10th and 11th in Tallassee, Alabama

This is the 15th annual event and is a family oriented event that you don't want to miss out on.   Battles for the Armory is sponsored by the "Tallassee Armory Guards" SCV Camp 1921 and is hosted by the 53rd Alabama Cavalry.   Battles will be fought at 2:00pm Saturday and Sunday Nov.10th and 11th. Other attractions include, working blacksmith shop, carriage rides over the plantation, period foods, crafts, and modern concession stands, and vendors, and our usual large Sutler's Village providing unique shopping opportunities for WBTS items for reenactors and the general public. Gates open to public at 9:00am. Historic Gibson's View Plantation provides expansive open fields well suited to cavalry, with camping areas that have piped water and shower facilities. Modern camping available with water, but no hook-ups.  The reenactment site is just south of Tallassee on County Road 4, just off Highway 229, 5 miles north of the intersection/exit on I-85.  Visit the website (http://www.tallasseearmoryguards.org/reenactment/index.html ) for further information.
