Announcing the Prattville Dragoons Camp Meeting for March 2014

The Dragoons camp meeting will again be held at the Shoney's on Cobbs Ford Road in Prattville at 7pm on Thursday March 13th.  Many come early to partake of the delicious Shoney's buffet or strawberry pie. 

The main item on the agenda for our March meeting will be the business of Camp 1524.  This encompasses the election of Camp officers as well as official reports by various officers.  Of interest will be the Treasurer's Report, which will give the financial standing of the camp and let us know where our money goes.  In addition there will be Newsletter, Membership, and other reports.  We will also present Certificates of Appreciation to three compatriots from Selma.

            Following is the slate of officers to be voted on:

Harold Grooms – 1st Lt Commander

Chris Booth – 2nd Lt Commander

Wayne Sutherland – Adjutant

Billy Leverette – Treasurer

Tom Snowden – Chaplain

Nominations will also be taken from the floor.  Come and exercise your vote, as you learn more about and show your support for your Camp, its officers, and thereby the Sons of Confederate Veterans.

Mr. Mark Thomey will present a discussion on The War for Southern Independence – Clash of Civilizations.  It promises to be another interesting and rewarding camp meeting so make plans to attend.
